Effective Design

We have a product or services we want our clients to be aware of - this is the purpose of advertising.  We create a "Catalog Sheet" to describe these goods, or a postcard for a "direct mail" into the community.

Advertising does not have to be expensive, and for a limited amount of expense we can reap great benefits - it's all in the selection of the "target market".

The Steps

First step is to determine the product or service to be promoted.  Next we need to determine who our audience is.  Then the tool to reach this target group.

Let's say we are selling fishing gear or "bobble head" dolls.  We could easily design a postcard showing our product line, for placement at local bait & tackle shops, or a catalog sheet that we could distribute at the ball park.

Step two is a photograph, digitial preferred (tiff format), and the basic design of the the advertising piece.

Now it's time for the design.  We develop our layout, determine the copy for our piece, and it's placement - then it's time for the "paste up".

Prior to digital it was all "pasted up" on "layout boards" - now everything is digitized for the printer.
